Bill Funkhouser has been brewing at home since 1992.  He has won several awards for his beers but hates to enter competitions because he dislikes bottling so much. 

He lives in Arcata, CA with his wife and two children.

Bill was named the Humboldt County Teacher of the Year for 2003-2004. He is one of just six teachers in Humboldt County to have earned rigorous national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. He is a co-author of the pre-algebra textbooks, "Foundations of Algebra," and “Core Connections”. 

He is a graduate of the University of the Pacific, attended the Kansas City Art Institute, earned a master's degree from Mills College, and has completed post-graduate studies in educational technology at Humboldt State. 

In his free time he plays accordion, gardens and cooks pizza.
